Exoplanet Studies

Exoplanet research—focused on planets beyond our solar system—is conducted using the transit method, which involves measuring small and periodic variations in the brightness of a host star as a planet passes in front of it from our line of sight. For systems with known transit times, observations obtained from the ADYU60 telescope are analyzed using the timing method to refine orbital parameters and investigate potential anomalies. A reference from a study published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society (MNRAS), which includes data collected by ADYU60, is presented below.

Figure: The left-hand panel displays 13 newly acquired transit light curves of WASP-52 b, with transit model fits shown as red lines. All light curves were obtained using the ADYU60 facility (Sonbas et al. 2022).
