Mission

To conduct scientific research through national and international collaborative projects; to contribute to graduate-level education at the master's and doctoral levels; and to organize outreach activities aimed at fostering interest in astronomy among primary and secondary school students as well as the general public.

To become a leading regional and national center of excellence in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics by advancing knowledge, technology, and scientific inquiry; and to enhance the appeal, effectiveness, and quality of astronomy and astrophysics education at both secondary and higher education levels.
