Data Policy and Usage Guidelines
Below are the guidelines and conditions regarding the use of the Adıyaman University Optical Telescope Facility (hereafter referred to as ADYU60) for the purpose of obtaining astrophysical data, and how such data may be presented, shared, and used by the public and the research community. Adıyaman University (hereafter referred to as the University) welcomes the use of ADYU60 within the framework of the rules outlined below.
General Policy Statement
All astrophysical data obtained using ADYU60 shall remain the intellectual property of the University until officially transferred by an authorized University official. The responsible officer for ADYU60 is a permanent faculty member of the University and serves as the Coordinator/Director of the facility. The contact information of the Coordinator/Director is provided below.
Data Acquisition
All researchers (individuals, groups, or legal entities such as higher education institutions) wishing to utilize ADYU60 must obtain permission for its use.
Researchers intending to acquire astrophysical data using ADYU60 must submit a written application to the Coordinator/Director (or an authorized representative). The application must clearly state the purpose and justification for data usage. The decision to grant or deny permission by the Coordinator/Director (or authorized representative) is final. If permission is granted, at least one University faculty member or staff must be included in the data collection team; exceptions require explicit approval from the Coordinator/Director (or authorized representative).
Data Usage
Data obtained via ADYU60 may not be used, shared, distributed, or published in any form without written permission from the Coordinator/Director (or authorized representative).
All publications containing ADYU60 data must include a clear acknowledgment of the facility’s use and appropriately credit the University faculty/staff who contributed to the data collection process. In most cases, this requires the inclusion of the relevant University personnel as co-authors; exceptions must be explicitly approved by the Coordinator/Director (or authorized representative).
Responsibility and Violations
The University considers violations of the above protocols to be a serious matter and will hold responsible researchers accountable. In such cases, the University reserves the right to pursue all legal remedies for correction, compensation, and, if necessary, indemnification.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the University will first seek resolution through internal procedures. If these prove insufficient, the parties will seek resolution through a mutually agreed-upon independent arbitrator.
