On September 17–18, 2025, a superflare was detected in the star system Gaia23bcv, classified as an SU UMa-type dwarf nova, during observations conducted at the Adıyaman University Observatory.
The observations, which lasted approximately 8 hours, revealed a brightness increase of more than 5 magnitudes and regular superhump oscillations.
This rare event opens an important window into understanding the evolution of stellar systems. Both amateur and professional astronomers are invited to continue monitoring this phenomenon!
